DECEASED NAME FOR NEWS: Glenn E. Prince
Glenn E. Prince, 93, of Joaquin, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, in Nacogdoches, on the night of lunar trifecta – lunar eclipse, super moon and blood moon.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Rev. George Laboyteaux and Rev. Hiram Melton officiating. Military honors graveside service will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Shelby County under the direction of VFW Post 8904. A reception will be held at James Community Center for family and friends, following the graveside service.
Mr. Prince was born November 26, 1921, in Timpson, to Joel Prince and April Ellen Ellis Prince. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Prince loved gardening and had numerous fruit trees. He played with many bands in the ‘40’s and continued his love for music all of his life. He taught his sons how to play the guitar and other instruments. Mr. Prince also enjoyed reading and teaching the Bible. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Shelby County. Mr. Prince loved Shelby County, where he enjoyed spending the latter part of his life. He was a very kind and patient person.
