DECEASED NAME FOR NEWS: Jerry Spencer Parker

 

Spencer Parker, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, at his residence.

 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2015, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with Bro. Lamar Denby Jr. officiating.  Graveside service will be held at West Hamilton Cemetery in Shelbyville with Bro. Billy Windham officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

 

Mr. Parker was born August 2, 1940, in Center, to O.L. Parker Jr. and Lois Wilburn Parker.  He loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Parker was a fishing guide on Toledo Bend for many years.  He was a member of Mt. Calvary Full-Gospel Church in Shelbyville.

 

He is survived by

Sister: Wanda Reynolds of Buna

 

Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

 

Preceded in death by

Son: Spencer Shane Parker

Daughters: Ceresa Jo Parker, Sherrie Lynn Parker

Parents: O.L. Parker Jr. and Lois Wilburn Parker

Sisters: Virginia McDonald, Marceline Green, Bernadine Creech

 

Pallbearers will be Grant McDonald, Jason McDonald, Nathan Lynch, Tommy Hailey, Ricky Hailey and Kyle Steptoe.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Lynch, Merlin McDonald, Brad Bass, Chad Bass, Gary McDonald, Larry McDonald, Greg McDonald, Troy Risinger and William “Cotton” Wilburn.
