Constitution Day – Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the United States Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787. Timpson High School teacher Tracy Rucker incorporated a variety of learning activities related to the learning about the U.S. Constitution in his history class during Constitution Week. “Which Founder Are You” allowed them to answer a variety of questions to see which signer of the Constitution they most resembled. “Power Play” let students make choices to determine powers delegated to State or Federal government while “U.S. Constitution Power Grab” provided them an opportunity to analyze given scenarios by searching the Articles and Bill of Rights documents to tell which branch of government is abusing its power. Students were exposed to the backgrounds of many of the founding fathers and enjoyed the learning experience! If you would like to see which founding father and signers of the constitution you are most like take the 11 question quiz at http://constitutioncenter.org/foundersquiz/.

BITS Launches Thursday - BITS NS 7 is going to fly Thursday 9am. Clouds are expected to be under 20% coverage and decrease throughout the morning before increasing in the afternoon. So we are going to fly through a hole in the atmosphere it appears. Jet stream predictions will keep the package relatively close to home making for an easy recovery. The only thing keeping us from that launch time is if we see flight predictions consistently landing us in Toledo Bend. The Nacogdoches Ham Radio Club is keeping us posted on that. We have filed with the FAA and we are clear for the 9 am launch to terminate sometime after noon. We will inflate the balloon the night before and hangar it in the bus barn. The public is invited to join us for the launch. It is always an exciting event at Timpson ISD!
