Obiutary for Wellington “Red” Allison Jr

Wellington “Red” Allison Jr., 78, of Center, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015, at his residence.

 

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2015, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with Bro. Jerry Green officiating.  A military honors graveside service will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center under the direction of VFW Post 8904.  Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

 

Mr. Allison was born April 12, 1937, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Wellington Franklin Allison Sr. and Olga Fallier Allison.  He served in the United States Air Force, where he assisted in developing and designing protective equipment used by United States Military during chemical warfare.  Mr. Allison loved fishing, woodworking and working in his yard.  He was of the Lutheran faith.

David Allison of Center

Michelle Hughes and fiancé, Thomas Derbin, of Nacogdoches

Sister: Dorcas Hover of Tucson, Arizona

 

Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Sister: Patricia McKimie

 

Pallbearers will be Michael Allison, Jesse Campbell, Derek Hughes, Radar Frantsen, Thomas Derbin and John Green.  Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Allison, William Allison and David Allison.
