On 9/3/15 at about 1:48 AM, Angelina County DPS was notified of a two vehicle crash involving a Diboll Police Department vehicle and a truck tractor semi-trailer at the intersection of US 59 and FM 1818 in the City Limits of Diboll. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that a 1995 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling westbound on FM 1818 and Failed to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Intersection and struck the Diboll Police Department vehicle that was traveling northbound on US 59 in the inside lane. The driver of the truck tractor was identified as Larry Eligah Menefee (60), from Lufkin, TX. The Diboll Police Officer was identified as Jacob Ryan Bailey (29), from Broaddus, TX. Menefee was cited for Fail to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Intersection. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. No additional information is available at this time.
