The 64th annual East Texas Peace Officers' Training Conference is underway at the Windham Civic Center through Tuesday.

Over 100 law enforcement officers from Texarkana to Beaumont are in town for the event which features required continuing education classroom training for officers and jailers.

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be conducting a blood drive from 10-2:30 p.m. today in the parking lot of the civic center, with a $5 Starbucks card going to all donors.

An awards banquet will conclude the conference Tuesday night as officer of the year and humanitarian of the year will be among the awards. In addition, the peace officers will also award four $1,000 scholarships.
