Something for just about everyone this weekend

Going on this weekend:

 

The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in Carthage will host its John Ritter Tribute Show tonight, June 26. Grammy Award winner, Linda Davis will offer her Stage Presence 101 class to anyone wanting to help take their performance to the next level. There's two sessions this evening, and anyone interested can sign up by contacting the Panola County Chamber of Commerce, or Googling Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Cost is $100 per person/per class. The John Ritter Tribute Showcase auditions and "Evening in the Road" will be Saturday, June 27. Auditions begin at 9 a.m. at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Thirty people will be chosen to go to the finals in August in Carthage.

 

The Timpson Varsity Cheerleaders will host a mini cheerleading camp for students in Pre-K through fifth grade on Saturday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Timpson High School Gym. Registration is $25.

 

The Texas Country Music Association will host a Texas Country Cares concert benefit disaster relief in East Texas on Saturday, June 27 at the VFW Post 5620, located at 421 N. Live Oak in Carthage. Admission is free. Among the performers is Jeremy Bowley of Timpson, Steve Mays and Three of a Kind, along with Richards Wilson of Carthage. For more contact the VFW at 903-693-2975.

 

The Texas Purple Hull Pea Festival will be held Saturday, June 27 in the woods of Newton County’s Shankleville Community. The event will feature lots of food vendors, including purple hull peas, crafts and live music The Shankleville Community is located between Texas Highways 63 and 87 on FM 1415 near Burkeville, Texas.

 

The Talleys will be in concert on Sunday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church, on Hwy 59, six miles south of Garrison. A love offering will be taken.
