Shooting suspect remains behind bars, no motive given

The man arrested for shooting into a vehicle last week in Center remains in the Shelby County Jail with total bond of $150,000.

Sheriff Willis Blackwell says 33-year old Marcus Hill of Shelbyville was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felony 1, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felony 2. He was arraigned Friday morning by JP Pct. 1 Maxie Eaves.

Hill was driving on Hwy. 96 North Thursday morning around 11:30 a.m. when for unknown reason came up alongside another vehicle and shot into it with a shotgun loaded with bird shot, injuring the driver and his teenage son, a passenger in the front.

They were treated at ETCM in Carthage before being transferred to Tyler. They are both reported to be OK.

Investigators located Hill Thursday evening and made the arrest. No motive has been given for the incident.
