Nacogdoches City Council says "YES" to microbrewery locating downtown

The Nacogdoches City Council has said "yes" to a specific use permit for a proposed microbrewery, just off downtown Nacogdoches.

By a 4-1 vote Paul Murray was given permission to construct the facility on North Mound Street and the company will be called Fredonia Brewery.

Voting against the issue was Councilman Roy Boldon who said his concern was mixing the brewery with Live Oak Baptist Church on East Hospital Street.

Murray says the brewery will have a tap room, with sales and tours during community events in the downtown area.

There are also plans to make the site available for parties, wedding receptions and club meetings, and the facility is expected to be open in a year.
