Last night's weather and update @ 8:30 a.m. Wednesday

Late yesterday we began to see the heat and the upper air disturbance generate some summer like pop up storms that contained high winds and heavy rain where they formed. They were very hit and miss. That's a good thing that they did NOT form over the Trinity or Red Rivers...or for that matter not over Sam Rayburn.....
Whitehouse had 1.79 inches in a short time that caused flooding and trees down with the wind.

Here in SA County:

   - Geoff Reeder in the North part of SA county picked up 2.2 inches before midnight and another .07 after.

   - Norman Neel was at 1.51 inches at 10:30 before his system stopped transmitting, but I would venture to say that he had close to the same readings as he and Geoff are neighbors.

   - Here, my readings were .39 inches and light winds....just a lot of huff and puff and noise. ground was ready for moisture so I had no run off.

   - As near as I can see from the NWS radar estimates the South part of SA County only saw 1/10 of an inch.  No reports yet to confirm the figures.

Our 7-10 day forecast is for more of the same summer pop ups today and maybe some of the widely scattered showers will drop another 1/4 inch on some locations. Tomorrow mostly cloudy with peaks of sun...then the rest of the week will see a return of the T-showers. Cooler temps being forecast for Friday thru Sunday(mid 80's).
