Long-time Tenaha City Secretary Doyce Bailey honored with retirement reception

BAILEY RETIREMENT RECEPTION - Longtime Tenaha City Secretary Doyce Bailey was honored with a retirement party Thursday afternoon at Tenaha City Hall. Ms. Bailey will officially leave the position she's held for 34 years on April 30. A room-full of family, friends and officials were on hand for the occasion to wish her well. Former Mayor George Bowers (right) was the guest speaker for the event and praised Ms. Bailey for her dedication to her job over the years, taking a lead with many community events and attention to detail. He added the city had accomplished a lot in her years that he was proud of. Ms. Bailey said people have always been very nice to her and she was most thankful for that. Ms. Bailey said during her time at city hall she's only worked for two mayors. Bowers served 56-years as mayor. Mayor Orinthia Johnson (left) presented Ms. Bailey a plaque from the city in a show of appreciation. Center Broadcasting Photo
