LUFKIN  – Texas Department of Transportation officials announced today that the southbound exit ramp at Loop 224/US 59 and SH 7 near the Nacogdoches County Airport will be closed Wednesday for resurfacing.

Moore Brothers, contractor for the project, is working to resurface the loop that area of the loop which will include the exit ramp. The project should be complete within a week, weather permitting. The ramp closure is scheduled for only Wednesday and motorists should prepare to find alternate routes from the Nacogdoches loop to SH 7.

Ongoing maintenance projects in the same area of the loop are scheduled throughout the month and should also be completed as weather permits.

Motorists should slow down and be aware of workers and flaggers in the area. Orange barrels and cones signal a work zone and drivers should remember that traffic fines increase when workers are present. Observe all safety precautions, prepare for slow traffic, delays and remain alert.
