Shelby County Memorial VFW Post 8904 and the Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a wreath laying at the Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the Historic Courthouse, at 10 a.m. this morning in honor of those who served during humanitarian effort from 1992 to 1995 in Somalia.  Hundreds of thousands were saved from starvation, but unintended involvement in the civil strife cost the lives of 30 American soldiers, four Marines and eight Air Force personnel. As always the public is invited.
