On Friday, March 27th, the Center Roughrider Varsity Boys Soccer team traveled to Crockett High School to take on the Mexia Blackcats.

In the first half of play, the Riders went ahead 2-0 with goals by Senior Captain, Gilberto Vega and Freshmen Marcos Lopez. The boys put up a great defense and were able to hold the Blackcats scoreless as they entered the second half of play.

Mexia came out aggressively and tied the game up 2-2. With only eight minutes left to play, Sophomore Aung Thein scored the game winning goal claiming the Bi-District Championship and that would send the Roughriders to the second round.

The Riders will be back in action for the Area Championship  against Hardin-Jefferson. The game will be at Allen Academy in Bryan, TX. on Thursday, April 2nd at 3 PM. The address for Allen Academy is 3201 Boonville Rd. Bryan, TX.
