Panola Pony Baseball finds the going tough against Angelina

Carthage, TX- The Ponies lose three straight to Roadrunners.  Saturday and Sundays conference match-up between the Panola College Ponies and the Angelina College Roadrunners was one to forget for Pony fans.

In game 1 on Saturday the Ponies fell 5-3 in Lufkin.  Lance Ledeoux, now 4-3 on the season took the loss giving up 5-hits, 4-runs, 2-earned runs, and striking out 3 batters. The Ponies scattered only four hits in seven innings. Austin Sojka led the offense in game one going 1 for 1 with 2-runs, 2-rbi, 1-walk, and a home-run.

In game 2 on Saturday the fell 13-3.  Miguel Ausua, now 0-3 on the season took the loss giving up 2-hits, 4-runs, 4-earned runs, 1-walk, and 1-HBP. The Ponies collected nine hits and was lead by Trent Shelton, Brett Boudreaux, and Jansen McCurdy. Each had 2-hits a piece.

In game 3 on Sunday the Ponies fell 9-8 in Carthage.  Hunter Stevens, now 1-2 on the year took the loss giving up 5-hits, 3-runs, 3-earned runs, 1-walk, 3-strike outs, and 1-homer-run.  Austin Sojka, Jake Arledge, and Landon Marshall led the offense for the Ponies.  Arledge went 3-4 with
3-runs, 2-rbi, 1-walk, 1-home-run, and a stolen base.  Sojka went 3-5 with 1-run, 3-rbi, 1-strike out, and 1-home-run.  Marshall went 2-3 with 1-run, 1-walk, and 1-double.

The Ponies now 10-18 on the year and 7-8 in conference will be back in action today as they host #2Weatherford College in Carthage TX at 3:00pm.
