Timpson High School students Isaiah Molloy, Jamie Moore and Taylor Fanguy competed in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Agricultural Mechanics Contest on March 20th-21st.

These students completed a 6X16 foot lowboy trailer during a four week time span that won a Blue Ribbon.  Skills learned and perfected were measuring, welding, cutting and shaping metal, constructing a project from start to finish.

Installing wiring and lights to DOT standards and completing a project book with pictures, captions and specifications required by the contest.

The Ag Mechanics contest promotes the development of skills in agricultural mechanics through competition.  This contest also provides an opportunity for public appreciation of this important phase of 4-H and FFA Youth Programs.

Tulsa Welding School - Submitted by: Kristin Powers

On Tuesday, March 3rd, Mr. Mac McSwain from Tulsa Welding School presented welding and career information to several Timpson High School agricultural classes.  He explained that Tulsa Welding School (TWS) has been training students for successful careers since 1949. Our dedicated staff has developed a largely hands on curriculum that incorporates real world training. Students were informed about programs that are designed to match employers' needs and are taught by knowledgeable professionals with real world experience.  Mr. McSwain illustrated that TWS are staffed with industry professionals that are focused on helping you get the most out of your education and future career. And also offer flexible scheduling, financial aid assistance, career services, student housing, and we’re a military friendly school.  If your student is interested in TWS go towww.tulsaweldingschool.com<https://www.tulsaweldingschool.com/>
