UPDATE: Norman to leave Center High School, named lone finalist for head job at Chireno

It appears Center High School Principal Tim Norman will be leaving his position to return to his roots and accept the superintendent’s job at Chireno ISD.

According to an article in today’s The Daily Sentinel, Norman has been chosen as the lone finalist to succeed Roger Dees.

The article says Norman was chosen from some 33 candidates. Chireno ISD trustees selected Norman March 17.

Norman has been in education 10 years and started his teaching career at Chireno.

Center ISD Board President James Greer said, "The district certainly hated to loose the leadership that he (Norman) has provided to Center High School and to CISD over the past years, but understand his desire to take on new challenges and responsibilities in his new role.”

Greer wished Norman the best at Chireno.

Roger Dees left as Chireno ISD’s chief for the superintendent’s position at Giddings ISD.

Law requires Norman wait 21 days before signing a contract.

The Garrison ISD is expected to name a superintendent lone finalist by Thursday for the job vacated by Center native Darren Webb. He’s taken a similar position with the Lago Vista ISD.
