June Hooper appointed to Logansport Town Council, River City Fest to be held May 15-17

In some news from Logansport and DeSoto Parish,

 

The Logansport Town Council voted last month to elected former council member June Hooper to fill the position held by Dale Morevan. The appointment was made until an election can be held in October. The town's website says Morevan resigned from the council after being elected to the DeSoto Parish School Board. June Hooper is a long-time employee of Farmers State Bank.

 

Krewe of Aquarius Mardi Gras Parade and Festival chairman Teresa Stephens was honored for her service to the community by the Logansport Town Council last week.

 

There's a new restaurant in Logansport, as Devine Soul Food, located on LA Hwy. 5 at Lovell Lane held a ribbon cutting last month. Their menu includes down home lunches, plus burgers, sandwiches and many other items. Owners are Pamela & Tony Garrett.

 

Logansport Town Hall has new business hours. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday.

 

And mark your calendar, the 32nd Annual River City Fest is May 15,16, & 17th. The River City Fest Pageant will be held April 11th at Logansport High School.
