We told you last week there was an effort underway to have a stretch of Nacogdoches County roadway named in honor of the late Country Music star Bob Luman.
David Stallings, the man behind the project notified via Facebook over the weekend that the Nacogdoches County Commissioners' Court will vote at today's meeting on the resolution to designated the Bob Luman Memorial Highway.
The roadway will be on State Hwy. 21 from Poogieville to the Intersection of FM 95 in Chireno.
Luman was raised in the Blackjack Community of Nacogdoches County and still has family member in the area.
Stallings says during his visit with Rep. Travis Clardy before the State Transportation Committee in Austin last Tuesday House Bill 598 was introduced which designated that portion of highway in Luman's honor.
Stallings says a dedication event will be held next Fall.
