The Healthcare committee of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 8^th Annual Health and Fitness Fair, sponsored by Cline Family Medicine, Thursday, March 26 at the Windham Civic Center from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  The fair is free to the public featuring over 35 vendors with give aways and door prizes.  Cline Family Medicine is the presenting sponsor of this year’s event along with gold sponsors Center Chiropractic and Nacogdoches Medical Center.  Vendors will be providing health screenings which includes glucose, cholesterol, spinal screenings, heart awareness, and vision. Information will be provided on home health, nursing homes, hospice, nutrition, and caregiver relief. 

This year the fair will feature two guest speakers, Dr. Dan Wilkins, Wilkins Counseling, will presenting information on “Stress Management” and Wes Bynum of Hospice of East Texas, will have a presentation on “Caregiver Care”.

Dr. Dan Wilkins, PhD, is a licensed professional counselor and a licensed marriage and family therapist. He has a Masters degree in Counseling and Guidance and a PhD in clinical psychology.  He has been in private practice for 41 years.  Dr. Wilkins specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, sexual dysfunction, and personal growth.  His practice is limited to teenagers and adults.

Wes M. Bynum serves as the Bereavement Coordinator for the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.  It is his responsibility to oversee bereavement follow up and provide grief support and education for people throughout a 23 county area who have suffered a loss in their lives.  Wes is ordained with the Assemblies of God and a Certified Chaplain with over 30 years of experience in the ministry.  In 2011 his wife “Bee” ended her two year struggle with cancer and since that time he has given himself to the study of the grieving process; what it is, ways it affects us, ways we can respond to it, and ways to help those who are experiencing it.
