Timpson City Council to interview city secretary applicants at Tuesday meeting

The Timpson City Council will have their meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening and among the items for discussion and possible action will be renewal of the one-year term of Municipal Judge James Bogue; renewing the mowing contract for parks, railroad right-of-way and other city property; and consider naming Paula Mullins as interim city secretary after Barbara Hunt resigned early on March 6. She had originally given an April 30 last day to the council.

The Timpson council will also be interviewing secretary applicants in closed session during the meeting. If any action is taken on a hire, it would be done so in open session.

Also, city council will consider appointing May 9 election judges and clerks and consider placement of a portable building on city property adjacent to city hall for JP Pct. 5 and/or county office.
