Tenaha City Council to meet Monday @ 5:15 p.m.

If during the course of the meeting any discussion of items on the Agenda that should be held in executive or closed, the council will convene in executive or closed session, in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Government Code Section and Revised Civil Statues.

 

Council will meet in regular session Monday, March 16, 2014 at 5:15 pm at the the Tenaha Municipal Building at 238 N. George Bowers Drive, Tenaha.

12.    Discuss and possibly take action on the following personnel matter:  To reduce the number of employees  by one in the utility department.  The City of Tenaha is considering a reduction in force (RIF) for budgetary reasons.  The position beginning considered is that of Matt Barton who is currently employed in the utility department.

13.   Discuss and possibly take action on offering a severance package in exchange for waiving all known and unknown legal actions against the City of Tenaha, its governing body collectively and individually.  The amount would need to be determined by the Council.

14.   Executive Session pursuant to Texas Govmt Code:551. 074 Personnel Matters-Discuss the terms and conditions of a severance package to be offered to employee for consideration with his release.

15.   Discuss and possibly tale action on the following matter:  The City of Tenaha, for budgetary reasons is considering the reduction in salary for the position of Mayor of Tenaha.  This salary if passed would go into effect immediately following the mayoral election in 2016 regardless of the outcome of that election.  Texas Gvmt Code 141.001 (b) prohibits the compensation being changed during the term for which the officer is elected or appointed .The salary being considered is $100.00 per week.
