Extra-inning thriller favors Panola Ponies, 8-7 over Bossier Parish C.C.

Game three between the Panola College Ponies and Bossier Parish C.C.Cavilers went to extra innings, but when the last out was recorded the Ponies emerged with an 8-7 victory over BPCC.  Brett Boudreaux would drive in the winning run with a sacrifice fly ball plating Chad McKinney in the top half of the eleventh inning.

Trent Shelton led the Ponies with reaching base five out of six plate appearances while hitting three for four on the day with 1 run scored, two rib’s and two walks.  Several Ponies batters had multiple hits in the game including Jordan Gore-2, Landon Marshall-3, and Hector Morales-2.

The Ponies pitching staff managed sixteen strikeouts on the day. RHP-Hunter Stevens went four and two thirds innings with eight strikeouts and three walks, allowing two runs and zero earned runs.  While RHP-Kyle Black went four and a third managing seven strikeouts, one walk and
allowing five runs with three earned runs.

Ultimately the game came down the last three outs. In the bottom of the eleventh with the Ponies up by one run RHP-Colton Coffman would come in and retire all three Cavilers he faced in order, striking out one in the process and collecting the Win securing a two games to one series lead over
BPCC.

The Ponies now hold a record of 7-11 overall and 4-2 in conference.
