Weather Update @ 10:30 a.m.

The Flood Warning continues for the Attoyac Bayou near Chireno.

        * Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.

        * At 10:30 am the flood stage was 15.0 feet.

        * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

        * Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

        * Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 16.0 feet by Friday afternoon as rain continues to add to the flooding condition. It will then begin falling over the weekend as dryer air moves in.

In today's 10 am briefing, the NWS Shreveport sees movement  of the Low pressure system that continues to move moisture to the North from its origin in the Gulf and is beginning to taper off and move out of our area to the North and East.  It will be dry for the week end. Our weather will begin a rise to the 70's for highs.

We can expect the arrival of a cold front associated with the High pressure system that is driving the current rain out of the area to arrive late Monday.  It will drop our temps only into the mid 60's and mid 40's for lows. Mostly mild temps with some slight chances for showers developing mid to late week.

The last freeze for us here in Deep East Texas is thought to be past us. However, the Tx-La-OK-Ark 4 corners area in 1987 and 1933 did see measurable snowfall.

With all the rainfall the last 30 days, we are in our more normal wet conditions for the year 2015 as it pertains to drought status. That is thought to continue for the next several months.
