The Center City Council meets at 5 p.m. this afternoon and among the agenda items for discussion and possible action are approving resolutions for a Texas Parks & Wildlife Grant for enhancement and expansion for Center Mini Park; assignment of lease for the Suddenlink Cable TV Tower on city owned property on Riggs Street, and denoting April as Fair Housing Month.

In addition, the council will authorize signators for the Texas Capital Fund Downtown Revitalization Contract. City Manager Chad Nehring said the city was awarded $150,000 with the Street Economic Development Corporation already committing the local match of $50,000.  He added the engineering design is already underway and the project should be under construction by summer.

Council is also expected to authorize the release of the Depository Request for proposals/qualifications, which is done every five years.

In addition, Center City Council will approve budget change for the Hotel/Motel Fund for Dixie State Baseball Tournaments and a request by the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce for closing part of Civic Center Drive from March 20-21 during the Grill Fest.
