Weather Update @ 10 a.m.

Our current temp is 30.4 causing a wind chill of 22 degrees.  In many areas to the North they are in the 20's with wide spread ice pack.  Area extends from Ark through OKLA, and into the Dallas Ft Worth area and out to West Texas.  Much of the area mentioned received 3 inches of sleet and snow.  Ice on IH 20 has caused a number of accidents. Wind advisory is in effect until 4 pm when it will begin to taper off.

We will begin to see the sun as High pressure settles into our area in the next couple of hours.  Already clearing in Tyler. Still, we will only see temps in the upper 30's and low 40's as the NNW wind blows across the ice and snow covered tundra. Low twenties expected tonight.  High tomorrow in 50's and winds will return from the South and quickly begin to warm us up. Some isolated rain of 1/10 inch in  areas mainly toward IH 30 for the week end.

Next week near or above normal temperatures( mid 60's to low 70's...Short term view is that this will be our last major cold spell with Spring on the verge of being " the real thing".
