Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9 PM this evening to noon CST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain... sleet... and snow... which is in effect from 9 PM this evening to noon CST Thursday.

* Event... rain will transition to freezing rain and eventually to sleet and snow as cold air on the surface and aloft spreads over the area.

* Timing... winter precipitation in the form of freezing rain is
  expected during the evening hours followed by a transition to
  sleet after midnight.

* Impact... freezing rain and sleet accumulations of less than a
  tenth of an inch may make driving conditions hazardous... mainly over bridges and overpasses.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. Though we are o the Southern edge once, the Advisory does include San Augustine county in it.
