A pre-trial hearing for Bernie Tiede was moved from yesterday to March 31.

A prosecutor for Panola County requested the date to be delayed so he could investigate all the allegations in Tiede’s motion that his defense filed in January.

The 56-year old Tiede was relieved of life behind bars in May 2014 and is expected to argue that the 15 years he spent in prison for the 1997 murder of 81-year-old Marjorie Nugent in Carthage is sufficient given his mental condition when he shot her.

Tiede has been living in Austin with the director of the film "Bernie," Richard Linklater.
