She was born October 14, 1930 in Center, Texas to Floyd & Virgie (Davis) Turner. She and her husband, Silas W. Wilburn, Sr. , a career U.S. Army soldier, and their children lived in many places, including Germany. No matter where they went, Center, Texas was still their home. Flo was a hard working lovely lady with a generous, loving spirit. Those who visited in her home knew that when you left, she always wanted to give you some cake, pie, fresh tomatoes or a jar of her delicious home canned-pickles. Mrs. Turner was known for riding her horse and carrying the flag each year for the opening of the rodeo, which she did with such beauty & graceful horsemanship. She was so giving and shared everything she had such as knowledge, love & food. She will truly be missed.
