LUFKIN  – Traffic is being diverted this morning on U.S. 59 north of Lufkin, just north of FM 2021 where a tractor-trailer rig turned over in a ditch near the Redland construction area.

TxDOT crews are assisting DPS officers to divert motorists onto FM 2021 near the scene of the accident. Officials say the area should be cleared and back open within a couple of hours. The accident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. and officials have worked since then to clear the roadway.

Drivers should slow down in the area and be alert. A dense fog is sitting over the East Texas area making driving even more dangerous.
