U.S. Hwy. 59 north of Tenaha was closed for some four hours Monday afternoon after an overturned 18-wheeler containing frack mud had to removed from the roadway.
The incident occurred just before noon, and was investigated by DPS Corporal Jimmy Faulker. He said the driver, 35-year old Oscar Alvarado of Houston overcorrected while driving through a curve, causing the rig to overturn.
The non-hazardous mud was uploaded to another tanker before the tractor-trailer could be uprighted.
Alvarado was cited for failure to drive in a single lane.
Tenaha Firemen detoured traffic into the southbound lane while the wreckage was being cleared.
The driver was taken by ACE EMS to Center Emergency Department for minor injuries.
