Center Fireman responded to a house fire on FM 138 (Lower Arcadia Rd.), about six-miles from Center, just before 8 p.m. last night.

Department personnel say they arrived to find the wood-brick home fully involved in flames.

The owner of the residence is reported to be John Gary York, who was not home at the time.

It’s reported the fire originated in the garage area of the structure, but the cause is not known.

Firemen were also advised as they were enroute there was a large amount of ammunition in the center of the home, which they were able to control flames away from.

The home was reported a total loss.

Firemen returned to the fire station a little after midnight.
