Weather update @ 8:30 a.m.

Even though the low last night was 26.9 degrees, it was well after the misty rain stopped.  Our roads seem to be fairly dry this morning.  Just a little extra caution should be used as that might not apply to every location.  We are expecting a high of 43 degrees today.  Currently we are at 27.2 degrees with calm winds and overcast skies.

A second disturbance is anticipated to move into our area by 9:00 pm this evening and bring us rain during the day Wednesday. Tonight's low will be close to the freezing mark once again. Due to the cold temps, we will likely see some additional winter mix in the early morning hours tomorrow.  San Augustine is included in the 4:30 am advisory area until 6:00 pm Wednesday evening. Tomorrow's high will again be close to our todays high of 43 degrees.

We were lucky as many areas to our North are dealing with the coldest high temps since 1996 and as much as one inch of ice. Travel to those areas should be made with caution
