Texas Driver's License re-issued due to mis-print

Did you recently receive a reissued drivers license or ID from the Texas Department of Public Safety? If you did, you were not alone.

Some 850,000 other fellow Texans did and it goes back to a small misprint on the back of the driver’s license for the word "directive".

The 'i' next to the 'd' is not printed well, and to a state trooper, this gives the sign of a possible copied license or ID.

DPS said mailings should be completed by the end of the month.

They say approximately 90 percent of the replacements have been mailed.

It is important that the customer destroy the old card as instructed.

DPS says the producing and reissue fee was covered by the card production vendor, not taxpayers.
