Father arrested on Capital Murder charge in death of toddler

An arrest had been made in the death of a six-month old child that was found non-responsive earlier this week at a home on County Road 4356, near Tenaha.

According to arrest records at the Shelby County Jail, 28-year old William Bryce Moore of Tenaha was taken into custody around 7:30 p.m. last night and charged with Capital Murder.

After questioning by investigators at the sheriff’s department Thursday, authorities felt they had the evidence they needed to take Moore into custody.

Ariana Moore was pronounced dead at Center Emergency Department Monday morning after arriving by ambulance.

A 9-1-1 call came into the sheriff’s department around 4 a.m. from a residence in the Kyle Parmer Trailer Park, with sheriff’s department deputies and investigators responding.

William Moore will go before a magistrate this morning.

Sheriff Willis Blackwell told Center Broadcasting yesterday that after autopsy results on the child were received his office would likely bring charges.

The sheriff said an older child was also in the household, and has been removed by CPS.

A graveside funeral service for Ariana Moore will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
