Center Rotary Fun for Funds set for March 24

Let the fun begin! Mark your calendar for the 2015 Fun for Funds event to be held March 24th from 6pm until 10pm! The auction will be viewable online via a live webcast!  The event will also be broadcast live on stations KQBB FM 100.5 and KDET AM 930 and on television via Suddenlink Cable Channel 2. Those wanting to bid will be able to log onto www.funforfunds.org and participate in the live auction.

Rotary Club President, J.J. Ford expressed excitement about this year's auction, "March is not only the time for Fun for Funds but it also marks the 90th anniversary of the club. It is exciting to be a part of a community oriented organization whose goal for so long has been to help others. I feel this is going to be an exciting auction this year with Rotarians already visiting with businesses and I'm looking forward to revealing what unique items will make the auction, one of which is a beautiful table and bench set donated by Roderick and Lisa Jones, owners of Back Country Furniture Designs."

Funds from the auction benefit the Catherine Pinkston Roughrider Scholarship Fund. Over the years, if you have ever participated in the Fun for Funds event, you have helped Rotary to raise $1,066,137 for the Roughrider Scholarship Foundation (RSF).  RSF has presented 1,544 scholarships totaling $1,213,800 to graduating CHS students and is funded by donations, not just from Rotary, but from the community. It has provided Center ISD students with a resource very few school systems have.

This is the perfect year to get involved and help. Rotary is seeking items to auction which will bring the highest possible dollar amount.  If you do not have a unique item to auction, any and all monetary donations are greatly appreciated and will benefit the same fund. During the auction, monetary donations can be made in honor or memory of someone and the donation will be announced during the broadcast as well as online.

If you have any questions about Fun for Funds or would like to make an auction item or monetary donation, please feel free to contact the Rotary Club at rotaryclub.center@gmail.com or 936.591.9334. All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
