One person has been arrested in connection with a murder in Carthage Sunday.

Police arrested 43-year old John Guy Tucker of Houston, who turned himself in at Carthage PD, and charged with murder.

Officers were called to the 300 block of South Cook Street after receiving a report of shots being fired in the area. When officers arrived, they found a black male dead on the front port of the residence.

The victim's body is being sent to Southwest Forensics in Dallas. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
