Tenaha man arrested by Nacogdoches PD for DWI with children

A Tenaha man was arrested by Nacogdoches Police early Tuesday morning for driving while intoxicated with two young children in the car.

Nacogdoches Police say 33-year old Marcus Craig Haltom was allegedly seen driving recklessly on Northwest Stallings Drive about 1 a.m.

Haltom was charged with a state-jail felony driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 in the car.

A spokesman with Nacogdoches PD says an officer saw a reckless driver swerving. After the officer made a traffic stop on the vehicle, he noticed a strong odor of alcohol on the man's breath. The police report  said Haltom showed other signs of intoxication and did poorly on field sobriety test.

Haltom was arrested and the children were released into a family member's custody.
