CIS Students Form Community Service Organization to Help the School and Community

At Center Intermediate School, a group of students came up with, and presented, an idea of organizing a Community Service group on campus.

After approval, they were put under the guidance of Lynn Williams, CIS counselor, and they have volunteered to do Campus Beautification on Fridays.

This activity entails picking up trash and keeping the campus clean. Taking it even further, they decided to not only impact their campus, but to have an impact on the world around them. They have written letters to Veterans and recently decorated the Child Advocacy Center for the holidays.

Although fully established, they have not decided on an official name for their organization, but refer to themselves as *Center Intermediate School R3Services*. They are described on their campus as “a hidden treasure in the Roughrider Community.”

These students are learning at a young age how to be better people and to positively contribute to the community and world around them.

This is a true example of being respectful and responsible, as well as being part of something bigger than themselves.
