A DeSoto Parish man’s profanity-laced phone calls and threats reportedly made to a state representative has landed him behind bars.

Mansfield police charged 29-year old Joshua G. Howell of Mansfield with stalking and threatening State Rep. Kenny Cox of Mansfield.

Cox filed a complaint early this month accusing Howell of making continuous calls to his home using “vulgar, profane language” and threatening Cox with bodily harm.

Howell is said to be a former acquaintance of one of Cox’s family members.

He had been told repeatedly not to call Cox’s residence but continued to do so. Howell was released on bond.
