Marcus Issac makes arraignment hearing in Nacogdoches Thursday, charged with first-degree murder

The Center man who turned himself in four days after fleeing the scene of a shooting at a Nacogdoches residence a week ago was back in Nacogdoches County Thursday for an arraignment hearing.

The suspect, 19-year old Marcus Shawayne Issac appeared before JP Dorothy Tigner-Thompson and was charged with first-degree felony murder. He was also charged with two Class C misdemeanor charges-no driver's license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Possible bail is pending until a district court hearing can be scheduled.

Issac turned himself in at the Shelby County Jail Tuesday evening after reportedly shooting 24-year old Dominique Brooks on Dec. 5. Witnesses at the scene identified Isaac as the shooter. He fled the scene after shooting Brooks.

Issac had a number of previous run-ins with the law involving car burglaries and thefts.
