UPDATE: Marcus Issac walks into Shelby County Jail, turns self in for murder of Nacogdoches woman

The Center man wanted in connection to the shooting death of a Nacogdoches woman last Friday has reportedly turned himself in to local authorities.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department reports 19-year old Marcus Shwayne Issac walked into the sheriff’s office and was taken into custody without incident around 6 p.m. last night.

It’s reported the Mercury Grand Marquis that Brooks was seen driving the afternoon of Dec. 5 after shooting 24-year old Dominique Brooks in the chest on the porch of a Railroad Street residence in Nacogdoches, was found Tuesday afternoon at the end of County Road 3215 off Hwy. 7 East in the James Community.

The vehicle was towed back to Nacogdoches to be processed.

Officials said Isaac had been involved in an “altercation” earlier on Friday with a resident of the house where Brooks was killed. He returned with a gun and began firing in retaliation as he walked down the street. Several others were on the porch with Brooks when the victim was shot. The victim reportedly was not involved in the earlier disturbance with Isaac.

The suspect served state jail time in June 2013 after pleading guilty to evading arrest with previous conviction. He’s also been convicted of burglary of a vehicle. Issac remains in the Shelby County Jail and is charged with murder.

He’s to be arraigned this morning. He’s then expected to be transferred to Nacogdoches.
