In sports,
The (10-1) Tenaha Tigers are not in an unfamiliar position when they face (11-0) Iola at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler in the Class 2A, Div. II Region III Football Final.
Tenaha is making its fourth consecutive state quarterfinal appearance. It’s the third time Iola has been at this round.
The Tigers last played Iola in 2011 enroute to a state championship. It looks like it’ll be Tenaha’s potent rushing attack against Iola’s defensive front.
The winner of tonight’s game will advance to the state semi-final to take on the winner of the Region IV Final between (12-0) Bremond vs. (10-2) Bruni, being played tonight in La Vernia.
Tiger fans are reminded the Pep Rally will be at 2:40 p.m. this afternoon in the SEC. School will release at 3pm.
You can hear a broadcast of the Tenaha-Iola game on the Internet as Robert Barton will have the play-by-play on pineywoodssports.com.
