Shelby County woman arrested at Center business on Illinois' theft warrant

A Center woman wanted by Illinois authorities was taken into custody in Shelby County at her place of employment Wednesday. According to Sheriff Willis Blackwell, 53-year old Donna Evans of Center was arrested by Deputy Jim Ed Mathews at Morrison's Insurance Agency in Center just before 3 p.m.

 

Sheriff Blackwell said he was contacted by DeWitt County, Illinois Sheriff's Chief Deputy Mike Walker in reference to a wanted person living in Shelby County. Chief Walker advised they would extradite Evans back to Illinois.

 

Shelby County Deputy Roy Bailey went to address given by Illinois' authorities on County Road 2572 and spoke with Evans' boyfriend, who advised she was at work.

 

In hopes of not tipping off the boyfriend not tipping off Evans, Deputy Mathews arrived at Morrison's Insurance and arrested Evans on a warrant of Theft of over $10,000 and Official Misconduct.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Willis Blackwell states that on
12/04/2014 his office was contacted by Chief Deputy Mike Walker of DeWitt
County, Illinois in reference to a wanted person living in Shelby County.
Chief Walker spoke with Deputy Jim Ed Mathews in reference to a  Donna
Evans, 53 year old, white female, of Center. Chief Walker advised Deputy
Mathews that they would extradite Donna Evans and gave a home address
located on County Road 2572. Deputy Roy Bailey proceeded to the address
where he spoke with Evans boyfriend who advised that she was at work at
 Morrison' s Insurance Agency in Center, Texas. Preventing a tip from Evans
boyfriend to her, Deputy Jim Ed Mathews proceeded to Morrison's Insurance
Agency and arrested Donna Evans at around 255pm for warrants out of Dewitt
County, Illinois for Theft over $10,000 and Official Misconduct.
