REVISE: Local Sports Roundup--12/4/14

The (10-1) Tenaha Tigers will face (11-0) Iola at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler in the Class 2A, Div. II Region III Football Final. The Tigers last played Iola in 2011 enroute to a state championship. The winner of tomorrow night’s game will advance to the state semi-final to take on the winner of the Region IV Final between (12-0) Bremond vs. (10-2) Bruni, Friday, 7:30pm, La Vernia. Tiger fans are reminded the Pep Rally will be at 2:40 p.m. Friday in the SEC. School will release at 3pm. You can hear a broadcast of the Tenaha-Iola game on the Internet as Robert Barton will have the play-by-play on pineywoodssports.com.

 

In Tuesday night’s high school basketball, a couple of other scores to add, Pineywoods Academy over the Timpson Bears, 92-83, and

The San Augustine Lady Wolves defeat Mt. Enterprise, 42-40.

Most of our local basketball teams are playing in tournaments today thru Saturday.

 

The Center 9TH GRADE & JV Riders will be in Tatum and the Lady Riders in Hudson, while the San Augustine Wolves are playing in Huntington, the Timpson Bears, Lady Bears and Garrison Bulldogs are taking part in the Mt. Enterprise Tournament; the Joaquin Rams and Lady Rams will be in the Apple Springs Tourney; the Tenaha Lady Tigers will be playing in the Lipan Tournament, the Shelbyville Lady Dragons are in the West Sabine Tourney, and the Garrison Lady Bulldogs are in the Winona Tournament.

 

On Friday, the Shelbyville Dragons go to Broaddus where the Bulldogs will be celebrating homecoming.
