The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Center man.

According to a press release issued Monday morning, deputies were dispatched at 8:45 a.m. Sunday to 54-year old David Allen Whitton's residence after a neighbor reported not seeing Whitton for a few days. Deputies made entry into the home and found Whitton deceased in the living room.

Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Maxie Eaves pronounced David Whitton deceased and ordered an autopsy to determine cause of death.

Investigator Chad Brown is heading up the investigation.
