Tenaha ISD teachers meet "highly qualified" standard for tenth year

For the tenth year, Tenaha teachers have all met the federally mandated “highly qualified” standard, according to a report at last Monday’s Tenaha Independent School District’s board of trustees meeting.

Under federal law, the definition of a “highly qualified” teacher is one who holds at least a bachelor degree from a four-year college/university, fully-certified or licensed by the state in which they serve and demonstrates competence in each core academic subject area in which the teacher teaches.

Tenaha ISD Superintendent Scott Tyler says, “We are glad to report that every teacher at Tenaha Schools meets that standard."

He added, "Every staff member is focused on helping every individual child become the best in everything."

“That is the legacy of Tenaha teachers.”
