The Center ISD Board of Trustees entered into a voluntary separation agreement with Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Kevin Goodwin at a special called meeting Friday afternoon.

By a 6-0 vote, the agreement was accepted and Goodwin surrendered the duties of the position effective immediately and submitted his resignation.

Superintendent Dr. James Hockenberry said the separation was amicable and arrived at by the parties as being in the best interests of the district and the athletic director.

He added the district appreciates the services of Goodwin over the past six years as AD.

As for a replacement, Dr. Hockenberry said the board of trustees will authorize a committee of community members to assist the district in the search for the next Athletic Director/Head Football Coach. He said this could come as early as Dec. 4.

The notice of vacancy will be posted by the end of day, Friday.
