The Center City Council has a regular meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. this afternoon and among the agenda items for consideration and action will be canvassing of the election returns and declaring official results of the Nov. 4 election for Position 2 Council position, in which incumbent Jerry Lathan was elected to a full-term.

In addition, the council is expected to approve execution of a contract extension with Allied Waste Systems for continuation of municipal solid waste services within the city.

The Center City Council is also expected to go into executive session to discuss land acquisition.
