Gas prices take slower drop in past week

The drop in gasoline prices slowed somewhat over the past week.

According to gasbuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Texas is averaging $2.72 a gallon, that's down three cents in the past week.

In Louisiana, a gallon’s averaging $2.76, down a nickel in a week.

Nationally, the average is $2.92, which is three cents less than last week and a quarter less from the same time a year ago.

Here at home, checking prices this morning in Center, it’s below the statewide average as the lowest we found was $2.71 at Wal-Mart, down only a penny in the past week.
